Born in Swords, Dublin, Ed Byrne in an observational stand up par excellance. He has performed several UK tours, and performed solo in London's London West End at The New Ambassadors Theatre.
He has also developed huge success on the international circuit where he has performed to capacity audiences in Montreal (Just for Laughs Festivals, 1999, 2002, 2003), Canada (Just for Laughs Tours), Dublin, Paris, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand. At both the Melbourne and New Zealand Comedy Festivals, Ed is their largest selling performer.

In the USA Ed has performed at US Comedy Arts Festival (Aspen), plus top comedy clubs in New York and LA and has made several appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (NBC). Ed is now actively and seriously developing his acting career.
Ed has filmed a feature film RAT where he plays the role of Rudolph. Radio includes a comedy play The Pig's Back and the Griff Rhys Jones sketch show. For television Ed has his first part in a Father Ted Christmas Special as a 'grungy teenager'.
He then acted in the ITV/LWT Christmas Day Panto Aladdin. He also played Davina McCall's flatmate Alex in the ITV sitcom Sam's Game. Following this, he played the lead role of Barry Cassidy for RTE's The Cassidy's.
On top of all of this Ed performs stand up at an enormous amount of corporate events and was be heard more or less continually as the voice of The Carphone Warehouse on both their radio and TV commercials.
Most recently Ed can be seen regularly, on panel comedy shows in the UK such as Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats. His most recent show Different Class was a huge success at the Edinburgh Festival and around the country, proving that now Ed moves into circuit veteran territory, he's better than ever.
