As a recognised face from Mock the Week, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of 10 Cats, The Graham Norton Show and Live at the Apollo, Frankie Boyle is one of the most in-demand comedians working today.
Frankie was born on August 16th 1972 in Glasgow and after taking English at the University of Sussex he began teacher training in Edinburgh. However at the same time he started doing stand up.
At the age of 23 he was regularly performing at student unions, leading him to abandon his teacher training and go full time. Obviously the years slogging on the circuit have paid off.
Frankie tends to have a morbid quality to it, and he is not afraid to go into places of questionable taste - one gag he delivered about the Queen's private parts caused a small outcry in the media and while we won't repeat it here, we will say that it was damn funny...
He also likes to point out the more ridiculous aspects of society, the media and politics which, while hardly being new territory for a stand up, are given a new twist thanks to Frankie's excellent delivery and one-liners.
He enjoyed a total sell-out run at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his solo show, Morons I can Heal You which sold out its 13,000 tickets before the festival had begun.
In 2008, his first DVD was released, featuring a stand-up performance given at London's Hackney Empire, while he also appeared in the record-breaking downloadable content for computer game Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned.
During the game Frankie performed parts of his recent tour within the game's virtual comedy club environment.
Frankie also writes a daily column for The Daily Record, a Scottish newspaper as well as Jimmy Carr's Distraction and TV Heaven, Telly Hell with Sean Lock.
Despite his success on London's huge comedy circuit, Frankie actually still lives in Glasgow with his partner, and the pair have one son called Thor, but he also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
