Full Biography
Jason John Whitehead is a laid back Canadian comedian who excels at razor sharp wit and cutting sarcasm.
Originally from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Jason has been working the UK comedy circuit for a good decade now having started in Canada in 1998 and his talents have taken him to perform in America, Ireland and Holland.
In 1999 he got close to his first award, reaching the final of the So You Think You're Funny competition. The following year he got his break by winning the BBC New Comedy Award. This spurred Jason on and in 2002 he took his first solo show to the Edinburgh Festival and returned five times in the following eight years.
Jason continues to tour the globe with 2010 seeing him return to his native Canada and perform at rock music's Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Looking like a member of a 70s rock band, having gone through both his surfer bum and respectable looks, Jason John Whitehead tells jokes based on his observations of the world, whether that be his view of the Brits or his own Canadian upbringing.
Due to his mother he now has an intense fear of rabbits and knows exactly what his dead relatives like to watch. None of this will stop him telling you the benefits of his Ford Escort though; a car perfect for taking British women on dates.
He is also a master of razor sharp sarcasm and has been known to cut any heckler to pieces, keeping the audience on his side at all times. Let that be a warning.
Jason is a performer who has appeared on the television all over the world, having featured on Adventures in Comedy and Comedy Now in Canada, World Comedy Tour in Australia and Comedy Gala in New Zealand.
In addition to performing on The Comedy Store on Channel 5 and The Stand Up Show on BBC1, he has also written and acted for Web Rats on BBC Choice and performed on Radio 4's 28 Acts in 28 Minutes.
Jason John Whitehead comes across as an extremely confident comedian who knows his craft. He is incredibly comfortable on stage and knows how to turn an every day occurrence into a side splitting adventure.
