Full Biography
Nick Frost was a world class waiter. He had to give up his dreams however and turn to comedy acting. He has never looked back having now appeared in a ridiculous amount of TV series and films.
Nick left school at 16 and, in true East London style, fell in with the wrong crowd. He cleaned up his act after a trip abroad and while working as a waiter he met his long time friend and collaborator Simon Pegg.
Nick had done a bit of acting before, having appeared in Dixons corporate videos, Casualty and The Bill. He worked with Pegg briefly on the classic sketch show Big Train, but Nick's career really took off when he was cast as the army obsessed Mike in Spaced, written by Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes (nee Stevenson).
Nick has also done a bit of stand-up in his time, but has limited himself to only about a dozen shows, half of which, according to him, were good and half were not.
Nick Frost's collaborations with Simon Pegg have sent the pair stratospheric.
The two, together with writer-director Edgar Wright, first worked together in film in the 2004 'Rom-Zom-Com' Shaun Of The Dead. Nick played the part of Ed, sideman to Pegg's title role, a man who deals drugs from the sofa and doesn't like the second Stone Roses album.
The two teamed up with Edgar Wright again in 2007's Hot Fuzz. This time Nick shared equal billing with Simon Pegg, as the naïve but well meaning local policeman Danny Butterman.
These two films alone have earned more than £110m at the box office. The pair worked apart for a few projects but have reunited for 2011's Paul, written by both Nick and Simon Pegg.
It is reported that it is Pegg who will play side man to Nick Frost in this picture, which has a Hollywood budget, CGI aliens and is directed by Superbad's Greg Mottola.
The pair plan to reunite with Edgar Wright after that to complete what they call their 'Blood & Ice Cream Trilogy'.
Let it be known that Nick Frost is not tied down to working with Simon Pegg. Dear Lord no. Nick has appeared in a number of comedy series including Black Books, Look Around You and sketch show Man Stroke Woman. He also has the infamous title of the man who shot dead Mrs Overall in Acorn Antiques.
Nick took a leading role in Hyperdrive, BBC2's science fiction sitcom, alongside Kevin Eldon and Miranda Hart, which ran for two series.
Nick has turned his hand to presenting too. In 2002 he used his research from playing Mike in Spaced to write and present Danger! 50,000 Volts! on Channel Five which spoofed survival programmes. It was followed in 2003 with a second series, this time called Danger! Incoming Attack!
Nick has recently done some serious acting, playing the lead role in the BBC's adaptation of Martin Amis' Money.
From Dagenham to Hollywood and everywhere in between, Nick is not a man who has taken his success for granted. He has thrown everything into every role he's been given and it's his determination, and natural comic timing, that will keep him in work for years to come.
