Bill Murray has confirmed that he will appear in Ghostbusters 3…but as a ghost!

Directed by original Ghostbusters chief Ivan Reitman, the sequel is set to reunite the majority of the original cast but some of them it seems might be more corporeally-challenged than others Digital Spy learns.

The actor confirmed his involvement with the sequel to the Daily Mail and said that killing off his character Peter Venkman was his idea.

“I’ll come back in Ghostbusters 3 only if I get to be a ghost,” Murray said. “I said to them, ‘I’ll do it if you kill me off in the first reel’. So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film”.

Murray also aired his thoughts on the first of the Ghostbusters sequels saying it was “disappointing, because the special effects guys took over. I had something like two scenes - and they’re the only funny ones in the movie”

What are his thoughts going to be on this third outing if the rumours are true that Ghostbusters 3 is to jump on the 3D bandwagon?  As bad as crossing the streams?  Let’s hope not.
