Yesterday Charlie Sheen was officially charged with three crimes following his Christmas Day fracas with wife Brooke Mueller.
TMZ learned that the Two and a Half Men star was charged with felony menacing, misdemeanour 3rd degree assault and misdemeanour criminal mischief yet Sheen did not enter a plea.
If convicted Sheen could face three years behind bars.
Both Sheen and Mueller were present at the hearing in Aspen, Colorado where the judge also relaxed the protective order that has restricted Sheen’s communication and contact with his wife. The couple are said to have hugged each other at the end of the hearing.
The BBC quotes Mueller’s lawyer Yale Galanter saying: “Brooke would like this case to be over and charges dismissed so they can get on with their lives”.
He added “I can tell you, Brooke very badly wanted to have contact with Charlie...There are many children’s issues that she wanted to communicate with him about. They have two gorgeous beautiful babies together”.
Sheen is due back in court on the 15th March and in the meantime is prohibited from drinking alcohol, harassing his wife and possessing firearms.
