Steve Coogan is still unsure whether the big screen outing for his character Alan Partridge will go ahead.
Late last year plans seemed to be underway for bringing the radio host to the big screen but Digital Spy reports that Coogan has said the movie won’t happen without his writing team Armando Iannucci and Peter Baynham.
“This is kind of make or break…You have to get all the right elements. We’re not going to do it unless we think we can do something really good” Coogan told the BBC.
Iannucci also decided to jump on the rumour bandwagon by tweeting: “Thought I might add fuel to rumour fires by saying [I have spent the] last few days plotting a Partridge story”.
Iannucci is also currently sky high after his co-written script for In The Loop won an Oscar nomination last week.
If you factor in Baynham's Oscar for co-writing Borat, or Patrick Marber's nod for Closer, Coogan is the only one who wrote for Alan Partridge who hasn't won or been nominated an Academy Award. Come on Steve, hop to it!
