Alec Baldwin & Steve Martin gear up for Oscars

As the date draws nearer and nearer, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin are all jokes and smiles as they prepare to host this year’s Oscars.

“Ladies and gentlemen, meet one of the most talented and funniest motion picture actors of the last 40 years, going into his fifth decade in show business, Mr. Steve Martin,” Baldwin quips to ABC’s Hollywood Wrap.

“And my introduction is, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, Alec Baldwin,’” Martin replies.

The comedic tag-team who recently starred together alongside Meryl Streep in It’s Complicated will be hosting the 82nd Academy Awards on March 7th.

Martin who has hosted the awards twice previously admitted: “I’ve hosted twice before, alone, and they felt I needed help”.

30 Rock star Baldwin revealed his excitement to be hosting alongside Martin: “When Steve hosted I was a little boy it was so exciting for me and I am thrilled to be doing this with him now” and added “I think the Oscars will be intelligent, charming and urbane, and then we walk out”.

We’re sure they’ll smash it out of the park!
