‘Zoolander 2’ confirmed by Ben Stiller

Get working on those ‘Blue Steel’ pouts because Ben Stiller has confirmed that the vacuous model-turned-assassin Zoolander will be making another cinematic outing!

Stiller told Parade: “We’ve been working on it on and off over the last six or seven years.

“The biggest hurdle for me personally was that Drake Sather, who created the character, passed away.

“He was a good friend and the lump for me was it’s hard to imagine doing it without him. Now my buddy, Justin Theroux, has committed to directing and writing it. So I’m excited and I think it’s going to happen.

“I want to be able to do something that lives up to the first one. That’s the challenge”

He also said that playing a character like Derek Zoolander was a great way to “exercise those demons” of “narcissism and self-absorption” that actors tend to develop.

“Derek’s choices in life are usually not politically correct and they prove he’s clueless. I’d be embarrassed to be so incredibly self-involved and so egotistical, but it's not a problem for him and that's fun for me.”

Owen Wilson is hoped to return as Hansel for Zoolander 2 and last we heard Superbad’s Jonah Hill was in negotiations to play the villain.
