Jennifer Aniston Has Spilled The Beans About Her New TV Show With Reese Witherspoon

Remember that time Reese Witherspoon played Rachel’s sister on Friends?

Warner Bros.

Yeah, that was like, the best time of our lives. Ever. We truly peaked.

But you had best believe it gets better… because our two fav girls are coming back to our TV screens…

TOGETHER.

ON THEIR OWN TV SHOW.

Warner Bros.

In an interview with PopSugar, Jennifer revealed all the goss about the new TV drama, which is centered around a “New York morning show.” It’s already been granted a second season which means we have 20, hot, new episodes coming.

JenAn can’t wait to return to the small screen for the first time in 14 years, and she’s chosen this specific show because of the book the series is based on - Brian Stelter's Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. Not only that but she was also motivated by her desire to work with Michael Ellenberg, who also worked on her husband Justin Theroux's show, The Leftovers.

Jen revealed: "It's so in the zeitgeist right now, because of what's blowing around in our world on a daily basis. It just was a really great idea, and to be able to work with Reese again, and do something that was keeping me home in Los Angeles, is exciting."

She also admitted she believes television is “where it’s at," adding: "the work is more interesting, and the quality is just fantastic. Unfortunately, the film industry is a little different at the moment, but that's sort of the natural ebb and flow."

Warner Bros.

Don’t worry Jen, we’ve had our fix of your epic movies to keep us going for a long, long while.

The beloved actress explained that the project "happened really organically," and that she’s "so excited to [start] digging into all of these characters and who they're going to be."

"The stories are endless. You just turn on the news these days, and it's kind of writing itself."

"We're just cracking the first few stories [of the show], and all of us are so wonderfully involved on the creative and producorial level. I can't wait to get it onto the air."

She’s not wrong (*cough* Trump *cough*).

Plus, Jennifer is super appreciative of all the girl power going on right now. After showing her support for the Time's Up movement at the Golden Globes, we’re not surprised she went on to discuss the issue.

"It's an exciting time for television, exciting time for women, and it's an exciting time in general right now," she said.

"I feel like 2017 really took it out of everybody, don't you think? We're in a little revolution. It's exciting!"

Warner Bros.

We can’t wait to join this revolution with you Jen!

In other news, Jen's writing and producing her very own musical drama Dumplin’, which will be in cinemas this year. She explains the film as “coming of age” and “a sort of homage to Dolly Parton.” She’ll also be starring in it as “the mother of Danielle Macdonald, who was in Patti Cake$.”

So it turns out 2018 is truly the year of Jennifer Aniston - you know, just like the last 48 years of her life have been. But this one should be SUPER special, as "It's an 11 year," she claims. "Call me crazy, but I know that. It's a good number."

Jennifer, we believe anything you say.

  • Marley & Me: This film features numerous puppers. Bring tissues. There will be lots of tears. LOTS OF ‘EM. Don’t say we did warn ya.
    20th Century Fox
    2 of 14
  • Bruce Almighty: A classic, sure. You’ve probably seen it already, but it’s never a bad time to re-watch it on a cloudy Wednesday afternoon.
    Universal
    3 of 14
  • Leprechaun: Where do we even start? It’s probably one of the most ‘90s films you’ll ever see. It features a killer leprechaun and an extremely fake set. Absolutely terrible, but worth a watch for the giggles.
    Lionsgate

  • We’re The Millers: Our favourite JenAn comedy out there. We have no regrets about recommending this. Not one.
    Warner Bros.
    5 of 14
  • Horrible Bosses: A highly relatable movie. Everyone has had (or has) a boss who’s just an insufferable twat. There’s a sequel too! And it's just as good as the original.
    Warner Bros.

  • Along Came Polly: Want to see JenAn come in to someone’s life and fuck everything up? Watch this film.

    Sony

  • Wanderlust: Mike Hannigan and Rachel Green join a cult. How can you miss a film like this?
    Universal

  • Love Happens: Can you meet someone and fall in love with them in less than 72 hours? That’s how long Aniston has to decide if she met the man of her life.
    Universal
    12 of 14
  • The Switch: Seven years after the fact, a man comes to the realisation that he was the sperm donor for his best friend's child. You can imagine that would be slightly problematic if not uncomfortable…
    Miramax
    13 of 14
  • Friends With Money: Olivia (Aniston) has many successful friends who are quite wealthy. “Good on her,” you’ll say. Well, the only problem is: she’s still a maid and has no clue what to do with her life. Don’t we all though?
