Alec’s hinted on many occasion that the sixth season would probably be his last, and at one point said it would be the show’s last, Lorne Michaels told NYMag.com that they’d find a way to carry on.
‘I can’t imagine doing the show without Alec,’ he said. ‘But I couldn’t imagine doing [Saturday Night Live] without Chevy [Chase]…and we’re still on the air.’
Once again nominated for an Emmy this year, Baldwin said on Twitter: ‘Easy, easy. Everybody settle down.’

A great ensemble comedy, Lorne added that the show has ‘got a lot of life and vitality and we all want to keep it going.’
