Peter Kay's far-from-succinctly named Britain's Got The Pop Factor... And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice has been nominated for an International Emmy award.
The talent show parody, which first aired on Channel 4, is up for best comedy alongside the Japanese show Hoshi Shinichi’s Short Shorts, Brazil’s The Slum and Germany’s Turkish for Beginners.
Britain today scooped nine nominations, including Spooks for best drama and Julie Walters for her role in A Short Stay in Switzerland, a drama about assisted suicide.
The winners will be announced in New York on November 23 at a ceremony hosted by Graham Norton.
Also, David Frost will receive a special accolade at the event, the International Emmy Founders Award.
