Last week Graham Norton was tipped for the replacement for Jonathan Ross, then came Harry Hill in a ‘people’s choice’ poll but now Michael McIntyre and Chris Evans are joining the rumour race for nabbing the lucrative top spot.
Evans who took over from Terry Wogan on Radio 2 this morning, appeared on The Andrew Marr Show this weekend saying Ross’ departure from the BBC was “inevitable” following the prank calls made to Andrew Sachs’ answer phone.
He also had no qualms admitting that he would love to take over the Friday night role: “I would be lying if I said that if I was offered it I would say no, but I don’t think I will be offered it.”
On the Graham Norton front an ‘insider’ has apparently told The Sun that Norton “is not going to get that show and this is a fact.”
Ross made the shock announcement last week thanking all his fans for their loyalty and support and reiterated in a statement that his decision was “not financially motivated” and that “no negotiations ever took place”.
‘Nasty’ Nigel Lythgoe of So You Think You Can Dance reportedly plans to contact Ross about breaking the US: “I don’t know if he wants to go and crack new territories.”
What we all want to know is what’s happening to 4 Poofs and a Piano?!
