We’ve laughed, we’ve cringed and we’ve cried. But after much deliberation we’ve chosen the finalists for this years Comedy Central Live Funniest Student 2010 competition...
The talented souls we’ve picked are: Mark Gale (Southampton Solent), Joe Wells (Univeristy of Portsmouth), Rhys Jones (University of Manchester), Max Dickens (Leeds University), Ian Smith (Goldsmiths) and Caroline Robertson (University of Edinburgh) to perform at the Comedy Store in Comedy Central Live Funniest Student 2010 on Monday 15th February.
To watch these future stars battle it out in front of an X-Factor style judging panel, please email press@comedycentral.co.uk for FREE TICKETS. Special guests Shappi Khorsandi, Patrick Monahan and Jarred Christmas also feature.
One lucky winner will walk away with the money-can’t-buy prizes of guaranteed gigs courtesy of Off The Kerb Productions (Lee Evans’ management) and the opportunity to receive mentoring and advice from Comedy Central!
Traditionally it’s always been a very popular night and previous winners have gone on to carve out firm careers in comedy. 2007 winner Hannah George was dubbed “Britain’s funniest woman,” by The Sun and has taken her show to Edinburgh Festival. Last year’s champion Tom Rosenthal from Kings College, London has taken his stand-up show One Degree of Separation to Edinburgh Fringe and worked on Comedy Central’s continuity.
Doors open at 6:30pm. We hope to see you there with bells on!
