Two and a Half Men has temporarily suspended production whilst Charlie Sheen enters rehab.

Digital Spy learns that CBS and Warner Bros TV have put the show on hiatus after Sheen issued a statement announcing he was taking an ‘immediate leave of absence’ to check into a rehab facility.

A statement read: “CBS, Warner Bros Television and Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary in-patient care at a treatment centre”

“We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on Two and a Half Men will be temporarily suspended”

Sheen's rep Stan Rosenfield said: “He has asked that his privacy be honoured. No further statements are planned”

This is all a culmination of the Christmas Day fracas between Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller where the star allegedly attacked Mueller with a knife.

Earlier this month Sheen was charged with felony menacing, misdemeanour 3rd degree assault and misdemeanour criminal mischief over the incident.

His wife Brooke Mueller is also currently in rehab for substance abuse.

Is this the beginning of the end for Two and a Half Men? We hope not! In the meantime catch brand new Season 7 at 9pm on Mondays only on Comedy Central or watch episode one online right here.
