Miranda Hart must be over the moon as her semi-autobiographical sitcom is nominated for three Royal Television Society awards.

Miranda is nominated for best comedy writing and the star herself is up for best comedy performance alongside Ruth Jones and The Thick of It’s Peter Capaldi.

The sitcom in which Hart plays a social misfit who lives alone above a joke shop that she owns is also in the running for best scripted comedy but faces stiff competition from The Thick of It and The Inbetweeners.

Michael McIntyre is nominated in the best entertainment performance category for his Comedy Roadshow alongside Harry Hill for TV Burp and Ant & Dec for their antics on I’m a Celebrity… and Britain’s Got Talent.

Rob Brydon will preside over the RTS awards which are to be held on the 16th March at London’s Grosvenor Hotel.
