How many directors does it take to make a sketch film? 17 apparently…

A mammoth sketch comedy project is in production featuring an all star cast with 17 directors and counting!

Styled in the vein of 70s sketch comedies Kentucky Fried Movie and Groove Tube, the as yet untitled project features a stellar comic line up with directors shooting stand alone segments for the film.

Deadline reveals that so far 17 directors have been linked to the film but Relativity Media hasn’t confirmed the final number, as they’re still all falling into place.

Directors who’ve already contributed include Pete Farrelly, Brett Ratner, Elizabeth Banks, Bob Odenkirk, and Griffin Dunne.

And how’s this for a cast list: Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Seann William Scott, Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Patrick Warburton, Liev Schreiber, Johnny Knoxville, Emma Stone, Tony Shalhoub, Matt Walsh, Kieran Culkin, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse!

Ryan Kavanaugh
picked up the project which has been tossed around the studios for some time.  Charles Wessler once tried to get Paramount on board but was shown the door when it was decided the R-rated movie wouldn’t work with their family-focused brand.

A release date is ‘anyone’s guess’ at the moment as the actors and directors find the time to contribute to the project

Speaking of sketches why not enter our Idiots of Ants competition.
