The cast for The Hangover 2 has been confirmed with Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms all set to return – with a lot more cash this time.

Executives at Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures knew they were on to a good thing when the script for The Hangover landed on their doorstep but little did they expect it to become Hollywood’s biggest-grossing R rated comedy ever.

The stars received no more than $300,000 each for the original film so that’s why this time around the agents and attorneys for the trio reportedly banded together to make sure they were going to get paid what they deserved.

This being the case, each actor is being paid somewhere in the vicinity of “$5 million against 4% of first dollar gross” reports Deadline.

Nice work if you can get it.

Director Todd Phillips will also pocket a cool $10 million against 10% and a hefty bonus if the sequel does as well as the original’s $467 million worldwide gross.

The sequel predictably now looks like a big budget affair with $25 million paid upfront to the actors alone (the original cost a total of $34 million) but what of the unlucky groom-to-be Justin Bartha in the original?

The low-down is that he’ll return for the sequel but how much he’s likely to get paid is unknown.

Production may start in October if Helms can work his schedule out with bosses on The Office.

The Hangover 2
is set to hit U.S. cinemas on Memorial Day 2011. And no, we don't know when that is nor what they're remembering...
