So Billy Connolly has been named Britain’s favourite ever comedian with Victoria Wood and Tommy Cooper bringing up the rear.

The Mirror reports that Connolly topped an Ask Jeeves poll asking 1000 adults their thoughts on their favourite comedians. Below is the top ten list in full, and it's a bit depressing.

9. Jim Davidson

Granted Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans and Jimmy Carr made the list but Jim Davidson?! Do we really still rate that right-wing misogynist racist git? Who was at number eleven, Nick fucking Griffin?
Wake up Britain! What are we? A bunch of old fogies?
