Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is stepping up to direct his first feature film – an R-rated comedy about one man and his teddy bear.
Deadline reports that Universal have acquired the $65 million budget to the film which will see MacFarlane’s feature directorial debut.
Written by MacFarlane and Family Guy pals Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, Ted will be a mixture of live action and CGI so it’ll be in the same vein as Scooby Doo or the Chipmunks – but with an R-rating it’s looking like Ted might actually be funny.
MacFarlane will also co-star and provide the voice for the bear.
Whilst supervising production on Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad! MacFarlane also voices many of the characters on all of the above so it looks like Sethy’s gonna have his work cut out for the near future!
