Disney has confirmed that they are making a sequel to 2001’s Monsters Inc.
Another venture with Pixar Animation Studios, Disney chairman Rich Ross announced that Monsters Inc 2 will be released in November 2012 the BBC reports.
Featuring the vocal talents of Billy Crystal and John Goodman the movie told the story of monsters who collect the screams of children as a power source. The only trouble is they’re terrified of children!
Monsters Inc grossed $525 million worldwide and also provided cinemas with the CUTEST character ever seen on screen – little Boo, who was voiced by Pixar story artist Rob Gibbs’ 2-year-old daughter Mary.
More future Disney/Pixar projects include a hand-drawn animation retelling of Winnie the Pooh and Frankenweenie - a stop-motion cartoon based on a Tim Burton story.
Toy Story 3 is will be released this summer and a Cars sequel is due next year.
