The BBC has confirmed that Graham Norton will replace Jonathan Ross when he leaves his Radio 2 show.
Ross leaves the BBC in July after announcing at the start of this year that he would not be renewing his contract with the broadcaster.
The Irish presenter will take over the Saturday morning slot on 2nd October.
Radio 2 controller Bob Shennan told BBC News “Graham is one of the nation’s favourite entertainment presenters and I’m hugely excited to welcome him to his new permanent home on Radio 2.”
He added: “I’d like to thank Jonathan for making the Saturday morning slot on Radio 2 such a success over the past 11 years and, during that time, contributing fully to the renaissance of Radio 2.”
Graham Norton said: “I’m thrilled to be a part of it. My liver is also delighted that I’ll now have an excuse to leave the pub early on a Friday night.” Easy now Graham!
Earlier this year Graham won a £4 million contract which will see the presenter stick with the beeb until 2012.
He now adds the Radio 2 show to his ever-growing list of BBC shows he currently helms including his own talkshow The Graham Norton Show, Eurovision coverage and current search-for-a-theatre-star show Over The Rainbow.
