Frank Skinner has revealed that he lost millions of pounds to the credit crunch.
The comedian invested in the American International Group (AIG) which nearly went bust two years ago writes BBC News.
On Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Skinner said losing “a few million” pounds “gave me my hunger back.”
“If anything put the mojo back in me it was the idea that I might not have money left.
“I’m not a very extravagant man really - as long as I have got a season ticket for West Bromwich Albion. I drive a very run-of-the-mill car, I do live in a posh flat, I must admit - I like a nice view.”
Saying that he did reveal that he spent £11,000 on one of Elvis Presley’s shirts…
“Elvis Presley has kind of been my hero for as long as I can remember.”
I bet he wears it every night.
At the moment Frank is in South Africa blowing a vuvuzela for England with pal David Baddiel offering their take on the World Cup in a set of unofficial podcasts.
The pair also re-released their Euro ’96 anthem Three Lions with The Lightning Seeds for the World Cup but it only manged to place at 10 with Dizzee Rascal and James Corden’s unofficial offering making number 1.
