After incessantly grinning at us on ITV1 at half time during every World Cup game, James Corden has been tipped for a golden handcuffs deal with the broadcaster.
The Mirror writes that ITV big wigs are looking to sign the ‘comedian’ after the success of his World Cup chat show but apparently he’ll do it only if he gets more money than Adrian Chiles. The cheek!
An insider said “James’s football show was a roaring success. ITV are desperate to get him on an exclusive deal. But he’s a canny businessman and will only accept if it’s worth more than Chiles’ £6million over four years.”
Sources are saying he could win the same amount of money but for a three year deal instead.
Aside from James Corden’s World Cup Live, Corden has guest starred in Doctor Who and landed himself a role in Hollywood blockbuster The Three Musketeers, firmly putting the horror of his BBC Three sketch show with Mat Horne firmly behind him.
However, only recently Corden was involved in the most cringe-worthy moment of 2010 having an on-stage spat with Patrick Stewart whilst hosting the Glamour Awards.
I’m shuddering just thinking about it.
Think carefully ITV…
