Patrick Kielty will be presenting Radio 2’s Saturday morning show for three months after Jonathan Ross leaves the BBC later this month.

The Mirror writes that Kielty will helm the show over the next few months before Graham Norton takes over full-time in October.

“I’m delighted to be sharing Saturday mornings with the listeners of Radio 2” said Kielty.

“I’ve had great craic making my shows earlier this year and I’m really looking forward to kickstarting the weekend on the wireless this summer.”

Earlier this year the comedian hosted Radio 2’s New Year’s Resolutions show and The People’s Artist Chart in April.

Lewis Carnie
, head of programmes for Radio 2 said: “It’s always exciting to introduce new regular voices to the schedule, and I’m delighted that Patrick will have a lengthy stint on the network.”

Things are on the up for Kielty at the moment.  He’s currently hosting Channel 4’s Stand Up For The Week and there’s already speculation that if all goes well with Radio 2, he could land a permanent show on the station.
