The Queen's scene-stealing cameo at the Olympic Games opening ceremony has seen a flood of TV and movie offers come pouring in for the fledgling actress.
First up, she'll play the titular role in a re-make of Helen Mirren's The Queen, followed by the role of a young, um, herself in The King's Speech. Finally, she's set to play, um, Queen Elizabeth II in the inevitable Channel 5 TV movie about Friday night's opening ceremony. Let's hope she doesn't get typecast.
According to a royal insider in the Sunday Mirror, the Queen loved filming her acting debut alongside Daniel Craig, "Her Majesty said 'yes' to it straight away" and found the whole thing "a bit of fun." Not only that, she took to it like a royal to reigning and recorded her lines in just one take.
Since Friday night, all made-up betting shops have shortened the Queen's odds of winning an Oscar from 1,000,000-1 to just 378,492-1.
But the Queen wasn't the only member of the Royal household to lose their acting virginity during the ceremony. According to the same royal insider it was the Queen's actual corgis that appeared in the sketch. "We had others on stand-by if it was required but we never needed to use them."
The Daily Slap caught up with one of the Corgi understudies this morning to hear his side of the story, "I've been classically trained, you know," said Rex, "but her dogs were bitches, walking around like they owned the place. That's why I left a little present for them in the pantry. Sweet revenge."
