That in itself is a reason to open a can and a bag of Twiglets to, but it seems that the sitcom is also for him.
Talking to the Daily Star, he revealed, 'I'm writing a sitcommy thing. I'm not saying too much because you might not think it's funny but I am laughing out loud all the time.
'Let's see what happens. I do like writing jokes. I don't see why I shouldn't write a sitcom. I'm a huge fan of them.'
We don't quite know what kind of sitcom that may be though he's said he's a big fan of Rising Damp. Just in case you are too young to know and were about to consult Wikipedia, Rising Damp starred the late (and great) Leonard Rossiter who played a seedy landlord who rents out a bunch of bedsits to a smorgasbord of tenants. If you've ever been in student housing, you'll get the idea.
So Alan Carr says that the show was a huge inspiration, 'I'd like to be a Rigsby character. I'd love to be the lusty landlord with a tenant underneath me. In fact, I'd love quite a few nice- looking tenants beneath me actually!'
Which is a bit uncalled for, if you ask us.
