Following this week’s plane shenanigans, Alec Baldwin’s only now gone and left Twitter.
Earlier this week, the 30 Rock star made headlines around the world after he tweeted that he’d been kicked off an American Airlines flight for playing Words With Friends.

Before you worry, yes, he was able to get a later flight but the ongoing shenanigans have rippled through Twitter and across the internet this week creating a digital storm in a tea cup.
Alec posted an apology to passengers on The Huffington Post: ‘It was never my intention to inconvenience anyone with my issue with a certain flight attendant.’
What’s followed has been a game of ‘he said, they said’ as both Alec and American Airlines told their part of the story however Alec has since gone on to tweet that he’s leaving the microblogging site. So there. He tweeted, ‘Let's play a game called Mass Unfollowing. I want to crash this acct and start again. But, tonight at 10 PM, NY time, unfollow me.’
His last post on Twitter was a link to a YouTube video: ‘I leave you with this.... The great Bernard Haitnk and the Concertgebouw, performing the Mahler 9th, fourth movement.’
He now appears to have closed his account. The real loser in all of this is surely us - no more Words With Friends updates is a tough price to pay.
