Amazon Studios will pay out $10,000 for an option, $55,000 if the show gets published. We shall leave it up to you to convert that into pounds. The shows will be made by Amazon and also distributed via the website.
The company said
‘We are looking for 22-minute narrative live action or animated primetime series you can't find anywhere else. ‘Generally speaking, we like character-driven ideas in well-defined worlds. We want shows that are smart, original, loud in concept and most of all, funny; think Archer or Curb Your Enthusiasm.
‘For live-action, we prefer shows with some level of serialisation. We are not looking for sketch, reality or talk shows. All scripts should be within the normal television standards for content and language.’ According to the guys at Chortle.
So while you are buying your casserole dishes and your sat-navs, you will soon be able to get some fresh new comedy. We didn’t say good, we said fresh. We will have to wait and see if its good.
