It’s been a funny old time for legendary comedian Billy Connolly: one moment he’s the most influential stand-up comic of all time, the next he’s being heckled off stage.

Fans have reportedly been left ‘disappointed’ after Billy cut short two shows, one in Scarborough and one in Blackpool after getting verbally abused by some of the audience (which should really be par for the course for comedians but hey…)

A spokeswoman for the comic has declined to comment on the incidents but has instead helpfully said his tour will continue – it’s a 42-date tour due to end in Brighton in March.

The shows had received tricksy reviews criticising his two-hour set for reusing previous material, which begs the questions a) Is two hours too long in the first place? b) If he’d already used some comedy material, surely he could have used some of the time he’d saved to create some responses to heckles?
