But instead of surfing for clothes or reading the Mail Online (stereotype alert) like most women would, she placed a £5 bet on an online bingo website...and her numbers came up.
She won £1,364,745.23 – enough to buy Spain striker Fernando Torres’s big toe.
“I had a spare minute and wanted to get away from the football so I decided to log on,” Lisa, from Witney, Oxfordshire told the Daily Mirror.
“As soon as I saw the size of the jackpot I thought it was worth a go - and I couldn’t believe my eyes when it said that I’d won."
Needless to say, Lisa was given one of those ridiculous over-sized cheques for the obligatory photo shoot. A guy in our office used to have one of those cheques. He didn’t win it. He bought it at a car boot sale. He liked to stand there holding it, pretending Rick Moranis had shrunk him.
Anyway, Lisa’s planning on treating Terry and her three kids to “a luxury holiday, new car and new house.”
Although Lisa had the luck of the Irish that fateful night, Ireland didn't. Spain thrashed them 4-0 but we're sure (stereotype alert) they drowned their sorrows down the pub.
