The BBC has confirmed that The Graham Norton Show will be moving in to fill the Friday night void left by Jonathan Ross’ departure.

BBC News writes that the new series of the popular chat show begins on Friday 22nd October seeing Graham back in the slot he could be found in all those years ago with Channel 4’s So Graham Norton.

Jay Hunt, controller of BBC One, revealed the move at the Edinburgh Television Festival at the weekend saying: ‘I’m sure the audience will love his unique blend of comedy and entertainment on a Friday night.’

Norton added: ‘I’m thrilled that BBC One like the show enough to move it to Fridays.

‘It’s the night the show started on many years ago so it’s nice to be back.’

Norton also takes over Ross’ Saturday morning Radio 2 slot from the 2nd October.

ITV1 recently confirmed that Jonathan Ross will return with a revamped chat show next year.
