Ok, now this is just getting silly…or is it? Harvey Keitel, yes, Mr White from Reservoir Dogs is the next name to be thrown into the mix as Steve Carell’s replacement in The Office.

Exec producer Paul Lieberstein, the only producer that seems to be feeding out ideas for Carell’s replacement, told E! Online that Keitel is ‘probably the only guy who can do it.’

There is one slight snag to the whole idea though…Paul hasn’t actually spoken to Harvey about it…

‘I haven’t started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job - a very different energy.’

He added: ‘And we don’t want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve.’

Keitel recently moved into television playing Detective Lieutenant Gene Hunt in the U.S. adaptation of Life on Mars which Lieberstein admired.

‘He’s a real tough guy, but I saw him in Life on Mars and I saw a lot more comedy in his work, just little slivers of it, little things he would do that made me think he’s capable of a lot more than what [he’s done].’
