It’s that time of year again when celebs gather in front of their TVs and clutch their phones too hard subsequently cutting off the blood supply to their fingers in the hope that they’ve been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. We’d love to write a long list of who’s up for what but that’s long, tedious and we’ll be here all night so we’re going to tell you which Comedy Central shows and actors have been deemed the most worthy this year.

Two and a Half Men’s Jon Cryer finally ascended from ‘Supporting Actor’ to being nominated in the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category for his role as Alan Harper. Needless to say we’re very proud of the man. Not to mention also Kathy Bates being recognised with a Guest Actress nomination for her stellar turn as the deceased Charlie Harper.

Critic’s favourite 30 Rock proved its worth yet again receiving 13 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, nearly topping the comedy pile only just pipped to the post by Modern Family’s 14 nods. Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin again respectively vie for the Lead Actor/Actress accolades as well as 30 Rock guest stars Margaret Cho, Jon Hamm and Will Arnett all being recognised for their stints in the comedy.

Looking to make it 10 years on the trot, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is once again nominated in the Outstanding Variety Series group along with 3 other awards. You can see why when The Daily Show comes to Comedy Central Extra this Monday at 10.30pm.

Mike & Molly also received 3 nominations including Melissa McCarthy again being nominated for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Good on ya Mel.

The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards take place on the 23rd September. Well done and good luck to all of you funny people. Now go write your speeches…and for the love of god keep them short.
