The unauthorised biography, Mick: The Wild Life And Mad Genius Of Jagger, was released in the US this week and includes some startling details of his affairs with men and women. If you were sexually active between the years of 1960 and the present it is unlikely you escaped the engorged attentions of the 68-year-old Rolling Stone. You may even be with him now. Not that there's anything wrong with that. We're not here to judge.
The author, Chris Andersen, claims that Mick even went to see a sex therapist, who he then seduced. We're not sure that was helpful, but it sounds like more fun that all that talking about "feelings".
Andersen takes a conservative guess at how many women Ol' Rubber Lips has slept with and came up with around 4000. He includes Carla Bruni, Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman, Carly Simon and Farrah Fawcett (very briefly). We're not sure if the brevity of his passion with Farrah Fawcett indicates a short relationship or some sort of malfunction. But given the popularity of the singer's services, we're prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt.
One name that doesn't appear on that list is David Bowie. That's because he's not a woman and we're sticklers for that kind of detail. Anderson reports a sexual obsession between the two that involved a long-term affair and the sharing of various partners in a kind of sexual tag team. This was not unusual in the 70s though, when the variety of human sexuality blossomed, shortly after sex was first invented in the 1960s.
The book also mentions that Mick was quite good at singing songs with his friends too.
