Sky1 has confirmed that An Idiot Abroad will be returning for two special shows – they were only rumours before so now you can breathe easy.

The two shows will appear as An Idiot Abroad: The Short Way Round later this year and will see Karl Pilkington teamed up with Life’s Too Short, star, Warwick Davis for a journey from Italy to China to celebrate Marco Polo’s famous journey (even though that famous journey has since been eclipsed by the now more famous spiritual journey from lowly supermarket worker to X Factor superstar).

Co-creator Ricky Gervais said, ‘Karl once said to me that opposites attract. Warwick Davis is sociable, hardworking and never complains. They should get along fine.’

Karl Pilkington added: ‘I don't know how it will work out. Honestly. Edmund Hillary had that Tenzing fella, Ben Fogle had James Cracknell. I've been given an Ewok.’

But on the plus side, they’ve been paid to do it!
