Friends’ Matthew Perry is to feature in a new comedy pilot called Go On – go on, it’s our news of the day!

The show is about an "irreverent yet charming" sportscaster, who finds support from his therapy group sessions. It’s a single camera-comedy (because you’re bothered about such things), which also stars Transformers actress Julie White.

And here's the industry bit (you may want to skip over this bit): Friends and Joey executive producer Scott Silveri is typing up the script and executive-producing the show with some help from onetime Friends director Todd Holland who will be pointing from behind the camera.

That’s about all we know but we are very e-x-c-i-t-e-d (and we hope people like it more than Mr Sunshine).

Hurrah for the return of Matthew Perry into the spotlight: he’s recently also signed up to join the cast of The Good Wife in a recurring role. Maybe you’d like to read about such things here. Go on*.
