FX president John Landgraf has been speaking about his decision to take on Charlie Sheen’s Anger Management. That’s a comedy show not a 12-step programme fyi.

He says, ‘I believe in redemption.’ Add your own exclamation mark.

Some may call the decision foolhardy, some may call it genius but Anger Management is slated to arrive on the channel this summer.

The show will explore Charlie’s lead character’s relationship with various women including an ex-wife and a 13-year-old daughter.

Talking about the pitch process, the exec said, ‘You saw a very different Charlie Sheen than you'd been seeing through the press through the end of Two and a Half Men. What I heard was a really good pitch for a comedy series: funny, complicated and the character Charlie ought to be playing.’

The producers of the show have started the casting process so we’ll keep you Charlie – we were going to write addicts – fans up to speed.
