Ricky is getting all hot under the collar regarding the current 'backlash' against the band. We are unsure what this 'backlash' consists of but it has made Gervais unhappy.
And if there is one person who truly understands the notion of a public backlash it’s Gervais so we will take his word on the matter.
Talking to Q Magazine, the comic said, ‘Coldplay. There's obviously a backlash against them. When you meet them they're nice, funny, normal people who are trying to be excellent at something.
'You can only applaud that. You can dislike their stuff but you can only applaud that attitude, you know?'
And Ricky has applauded that attitude in the past with Coldplay’s Chris Martin cameoing in the sitcom Extras back in 2006.
