With all eyes on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars last night, Sacha Baron Cohen took every opportunity to plug his upcoming film The Dictator.
With lots of umming and arring as to whether Cohen would turn up after initially being banned from the event by the big bad Oscar bosses, he worked the red carpet dressed as General Aladeen.
He kicked off the night by tipping an urn containing ‘the ashes of Kim Jong II’ over E! presenter Ryan Seacrest and his sure-to-be-super-expensive suit. Let’s just say, he did not look happy.
Surrounded by his ‘military assistants’ Cohen; oh sorry, 'General Aladeen' was asked who he was wearing for the hottest event in Hollywood’s calendar. He replied with, “I'm wearing John Galliano, but the socks are from K-Mart! As Saddam Hussein once said to me, socks are socks, don't waste money” going on to say, “I love it here because it gave me an opportunity to bring my dear friend and tennis partner, Kim Jong-il.!”
30 Rock star Tina Fey was photographed in front of the ‘ashes’, shortly before the Oscar team pulled out the vacuum.
Oh, and before we forget, here's the complete list of winners from last night's awards...
