Steve Carell may be teaming up with Keira Knightley for a ‘sort of’ romantic comedy about the end of the world.
Deadline writes that Carell has reportedly already signed up for Seeking a Friend For the End of the World a film which takes place as mankind is preparing itself for a catastrophic asteroid hit.
The gist: Carell’s wife freaks out over the apocalyptic news and leaves him. Meanwhile his old high school sweetheart calls him up out of the blue and says she wants to be with him when all hell breaks loose.
Enter Keira Knightley, who’s in negotiations to play Carell’s neighbour who accompanies him on a road trip to see her but love soon blossoms at the worst possible moment in history.
