Lee’s latest DVD If You Prefer A Milder Comedian, Please Ask For One (released by yours truly) was nominated against the tough competition of Tim Minchin, Bill Bailey and Simon Amstell but proved victorious. Well done Stew!
Although Tim Minchin lost out on the DVD award, he won’t feel too disheartend after picking up the Best Tour and Best Music or Variety Act awards.
The TV and radio award went to Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Milton Jones won Best Headliner and Best Show was awarded to Kevin Eldon.
Diane Spencer was awarded Best Newcomer and The Boy With Tape On His Face secured Best Breakthrough Act.
Chris Sievey aka Frank Sidebottom was awarded a posthumous Judge’s Award after his sudden death last year and Victoria Wood was celebrated for her Outstanding Contribution to Comedy.
Elsewhere, Richard Herring won the Internet Award for his 'As It Occurs to Me' podcast, Stephen Grant won Best Compere and Late Night Gimp Fight were named Best Character or Sketch Act.
