Last night saw Hollywood’s great and the good, wiping down their designer frocks and rinsing through their tights for another awards ceremony – this time for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

USA Today got the majority of the highlights, we were just there in spirit. Don’t worry our day will come.

Anyways, 30 Rock’s Alec Baldwin was hilarious offstage as well. Referencing his recent American Airlines debacle, he told reporters, ‘I am still playing Words With Friends. But now on Virgin Atlantic.’

On receiving the award for best comedy ensemble, Modern Family’s Nolan Gould (who plays Luke) had the audience in stitches, saying, ‘I think it was the late, great W.C. Fields who said, 'Never work with kids or animals.' Well, he can kiss my ***’

Offstage, Ty Burrell, who plays his dad talked about the kids on the show, saying, ‘I've learned things like union words and technical things about acting. They have been acting longer than I have.’

You’ll be pleased to hear Kristen Wiig wasn’t quizzed about Bridesmaids 2 and we’re even pleaseder that we don’t have to write about that again, revealed they had a drinking game on the set of the hit movie, ‘You have to take a drink every time, and I mean every time, you hear the word 'Scorsese. You'd be surprised how that comes up in casual conversation.’ Scorsese of Martin fame, she means!

And finally, George Clooney served up this joke for journos… ‘I like to roast a pig in the backyard every other day, just stick it in. I had a pet pig for a while, so after he died, it was OK to do that.’
