Disney has confirmed that the Muppets will be back. However, Jason Segel, hugely responsible for its recent revival won’t be involved this time. Sad but true.

Disney released the news at industry event CinemaCon in Las Vegas, which Sacha Baron Cohen hilariously called Cinnabon.

The Muppets co-writer Nicholas Stoller is back at his typewriter and director James Bobin will be involved too.

Jason has recently spoken about the split being amicable, ‘My goal was to bring The Muppets back and I did that leaving them in very good hands.’

Good hands are a necessity for the Muppets we imagine as having them inside your body must require a great deal of trust.

Jason added, ‘I did what I set out to do, and now I wanna pursue more human-related projects. I'm ready for a little puppet break.’

The last Muppets movie made $150m worldwide and won an Oscar for best song, which must have been some kind of result and had some sway over deciding to do more.
