Two and a Half Men won a Creative Emmy Award this weekend for Outstanding Cinematography for a multi-camera series for the season eight episode ‘Hookers, Hookers, Hookers’.

Considering the last year the sitcom has had there will be big grins all round for Chuck Lorre’s team ahead of the season 9 premiere next week.

The first episode of Two and a Half Men Season 9 comes to Comedy Central on Tuesday 20th September.

Elsewhere Futurama won Outstanding Animated Program and The Daily Show won the Outstanding Special Class Award for a Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program.

Blighty’s Downton Abbey also won two awards but Boardwalk Empire seemed to dominate the night with 7 Emmys giving a good indication of its chances next week where the remaining awards will be presented on Sunday at the 63rd Primetime Emmy awards hosted by Glee’s Jane Lynch.

Jon Cryer will find out if he’s won another Outstanding Supporting Actor role and Melissa McCarthy will learn if she’s won her Outstanding Actress award.
