US sitcom 2 Broke Girls made its debut on British TV last night.

You may have seen it but if you were watching American Idol - like, why? - it stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs, a laughter track and closing credits which show how much the duo have earned so far.

And some people who look at figures are suggesting it did good work, winning an audience of 824k on E4 and 253k when it got followed up on the diffusion line channel of E4+1.

Apparently, it's given E4 its biggest audience for a new show since the launch of Glee. Is someone going to say, 'We all know how that panned out?'

Anyway, hurrah and we hope champagne was drunk. We could only find one review from

The Metro who said, 'It will be interesting to see how the rest of the opening season plays out though as there is potential here especially in the girls' unconventional relationship, at least enough to make you defer full judgement for another few episodes.'

But isn't that what we did with Glee?
