Julia Louis-Dreyfus star of Veep, Armando Iannucci’s kind-of US version of The Thick of It, made a startling discovery whilst taking a nose around the US Senate and she told Jon Stewart all about it on last night’s Daily Show.
In preparation for her role as Vice President Selina Meyer, Julia and her wandering fingers found their way into the desks on the Senate Floor of Capitol Hill.
We’d all do it if we were left alone right?!
‘We got to go to the floor of the Senate and I have a couple of very interesting tidbits you should know….’ She said.
‘One of the Senator’s desks, and God I cannot remember which one…if you open it up it’s filled with candy – swear to God!’
Candy. That’s the people running America people. You can just imagine them shiftily slipping Reece’s Pieces into his mouth between every vote can’t you?
If that’s happening in the US Senate we dread to think what going on in Boris Johnson’s drawers..
