Full Biography
Described by Jack as a “New York third-wave feminist, college-educated, and single-and-pretending-to-be-happy-about-it”, Liz Lemon is the acerbic, head writer on The Girlie Show, a Saturday Night Live-esque live variety show.
Often wearing “bi-curious” shoes and “gender neutral” clothing, Lemon is the perfect fodder for the new station executive Jack Donaghy, hell bent on stirring up Lemon’s format and making her once manageable life a living nightmare.
As executive producer and writer of the show, Fey brings a wealth of experience to the show on screen as well as behind the camera.
Having been head writer for NBC’s Saturday Night Live since 1999, Fey has enjoyed numerous Emmy successes and it’s no surprise that 30 Rock has won numerous Emmy’s including Outstanding Comedy Series three years running and with Fey herself picking up two Golden Globes and two Emmy’s for her portrayal of Liz Lemon.
She also leant her talents to the silver screen, in 2004, adapting Rosalind Wiseman’s non-fiction book Queen Bees and Wannabees into hit teen flick Mean Girls starring Lindsay Lohan.
Of late, Fey has appeared in Ricky Gervais’ latest Hollywood hit The Invention of Lying and is developing Curly Oxide & Vic Thrill, a film rumoured to feature Sacha Baron Cohen as a Hasidic Jew forming a rock band...we can’t wait!
