Based on author Candace Bushnell's book of the same name, Sex and the City Sarah-Jessica Parker stars as Carrie Bradshaw.
A sassy but complicated New York City journalist, Carrie's observations on romance and passion appear in a weekly newspaper column called "Sex and the City".
Finding source material for her writing is no problem. All she has to do is look at her own romantic misadventures or meet up with her three closest girlfriends for brunch to chat about what the latest men in their lives are doing to drive them crazy.
There's foxy Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), a PR guru who's racked up a fair few notches on her bedpost; soppy Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), whose romantic perfectionism often prevents her from meeting "Mr Right" and cynical Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), a high-powered corporate lawyer who remains guarded about her emotions when it comes to men.
Through their ups and downs in (and out of) the bedroom, these four friends remain each other's true soul mates, bound together by their desire to find love, but because this is Sex and the City, they make sure they have a lot of fun along the way.
