Description

The Office follows the staff of Dunder Mifflin, a premiere paper supply company in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and a prime example of how the American Dream has turned into a living nightmare.

Adapted from the British comedy by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, the US version is arguably better in many ways.

It seems these two canny brits knew that in the UK we have neither the money nor time to take the show beyond two series and a Christmas special while maintaining quality, but knew a certain country who does.

Using the US sitcom writing system which can sustain up to twenty four episodes per season, Gervais and Merchant handed The Office over to a team of talented writers and performers and the show has become an entirely different beast.

With a larger central cast, but headed up by Steve Carell, John Krasinksi, Jenna Fischer and Rainn Wilson, this Office has gone far further than the original award-winning series, developing the characters to have lives, loves, marriage and even near-fatal car accidents, stretching beyond the humdrum every-day life at work.

This Office is much more than just giving the British version a lick of paint and has become one of the best and most original comedies currently being made anywhere in the world, and we are proud to have it on Comedy Central.
